Park Hours Reduced in January at All Walt Disney World Parks

Although all theme park hours were extended for Christmas week, park hours are going back to their pre-holiday schedule at EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Previously, Walt Disney World had only released park hours through January 2. Now the calendar is showing January 3 through 9 hours.

EPCOT will be open 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be open 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be open 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Meanwhile, at Magic Kingdom, park hours are reduced even further than their pre-holiday schedule.

Previously, Walt Disney World had only released park hours through January 2. Now the calendar is showing park hours for January 3 through 9.

For January 3 through 9, 2021, Magic Kingdom will be open 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily, an hour less than the previous closing time of 7:00 PM.

There are usually major drops in attendance following the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s, so it’s no surprise Disney would make the decision to close the parks earlier. There is often a bump in attendance on Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, which is January 16-18, 2021, so stay tuned to WDWNT.com for updates as Walt Disney World releases more park hours in the future!

  1. If you want people to return, increase your hours. Most events are canceled so why pay all that money to have the hours shortened too?

  2. I’ll be visiting in January for the first time since Covid hit. Are shops in any of the parks still open slightly after park closing, like shops on Main Street?

  3. Guess since they cancelled the marathon the weekend of the 9th they don’t need extended hours due to crowds.
