PHOTO REPORT: EPCOT 10/23/20 (Lotus Blossom Cafe Reopens, New Menu Items At Waffles Booth, Returning Menu Items To Kringla Bakeri And Karamell-Kuche, New Forest Friends Merchandise Line, and More)
Hello from a breezy and sometimes rainy EPCOT! We had an exciting day finding all the new things around the park to bring to you, so let’s get started!
With a large chunk of this park under construction, we expected to see the now-familiar scrim walls and green barrier walls popping up around the park, but they started sooner than we thought they would. The recently completed security structure appears to be a part of a large refurbishment project taking place around the security area to the left as you’re looking at the park. Guests parking in the Create and Amaze Parking Lots were directed to the security check points previously used for guests exiting the Monorail.
Just inside the park, the scaffolding has returned near the lucite pylons. We had hoped that part of this scaffolding’s purpose was to aid in the repair of the large scratch on the pylons, sustained during construction, but the scratch appears to still be there.
At Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, workers were once again on the roof unpacking something that came in large flat boxes. We were unable to see what was being unpacked, but workers were also working on the roof covering itself.
Farther in the park at the American Gardens Theatre, the construction walls are down around this section of walkway on the right side of the house. It appears some work or repair was necessary under the pavement, and two sections of pavers were removed and then replaced.
We found Elsa today greeting guests from the front porch of the Summerhaus today. We are really enjoying this new style of socially distanced meet and greet!
We found the popular Macaron Ears at the France Pavilion had been restocked today. If these ears are your style we recommend you snag a pair while you still can!
Lotus Blossom Cafe reopened today with a limited menu and socially distanced seating arrangements for guests. Even though it is limited, it’s nice to have this Quick Service option available again!
Since it was Friday, we found the Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe in the Norway Pavilion open to guests. The limited menu had grown by one—Rice Cream had been added for $3.79.
We were able to take a look at the Rice Cream in the cold case and it looked delicious!
Two new menu items were spotted at the Waffles Food & Wine Festival booth. The Chicken and Waffles and the Bananas Foster were both delicious, and were worth the wait for them to arrive at the festival! Click here for the full review.
Several caramel treats have returned to the cold case at Karamell-Kuche. The Chocolate Pecan Turtles have finally made their way back into the park.
We also found these marshmallow wands had returned for $4.99. Unfortunately cake pops are not available at this time in Disney Parks.
Lastly, we found the Caramel Flight had been totally revamped, with the new flavors now being Mojito, Tequila, Cherry Blossom, and Limoncello.
At Mouse Gear we noticed that this wall, which had displayed International Food & Wine Festival merchandise, had been cleared and reset with all Christamas ornaments. It seems like it’s almost time for the holiday season here in Walt Disney World!
On the new ornament wall we found this new mini ear ornament matching the recently released black and red polka dot sequin ears. It even has the red lining on the headband! We found this ornament at Mouse Gear for $19.99.
We found several new holiday open edition pins today around the park. Our favorite was the little gingerbread Mickey on the right. For pictures of all the pins we found today with prices, take a look at our article here.
We found a Limited Edition pin today as well, this one being exclusive to Disney Vacation Club members and featuring Donald Duck. We found this pin at Pin Traders for $17.99.
We also found this Limited Release moveable pin featuring “The Child” from The Mandalorian at Pin Traders for $15.99.
We found two new additions to the Annual Passholder Pop-Up Shop in the Germany Pavilion. The first was this Passholder exclusive phone case featuring Figment, which retails for $29.99.
The second was this Passholder exclusive phone case featuring the Hatbox Ghost from The Haunted Mansion, which retails for $29.99 as well. Both phone cases were available in iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus, X, XS, XR, XS Max, 11, 11 Pro, and the 11 Pro Max.
Speaking of critters, the cutest find of the day was surely this Disney Babies version of Dug from Pixar’s Up. Just look at that tongue! We found him at Disney Traders for $32.99.
With the park hours extended on and around the weekend, we got to see the park after dark, a rare thing these days. We love seeing Spaceship Earth all lit up! We had a wonderful day at EPCOT, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
