Hello from a perfect park day at the Magic Kingdom! We found lots of fun new things today, so let’s get started!
We started off by checking on the progress on the repainting of the Toll Plaza. Work on the main sign has begun, and primer has been painted over on one of the two sections already.
In other construction news, inside the park, themed refurbishment signs have been put up around Tom Sawyer Island apologizing for construction in the area. While normally blocked from view by guests in line for The Haunted Mansion, we got a good look at this sign early this morning.
Additional canopy pieces are being assembled over at TRON Lightcycle Run, and a concrete foundation has been poured, with rebar protruding vertically from the edges.
A scrim tower has appeared surrounding one of the leg supports for the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover near the entrance to Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. We can see the top of the leg and it hasn’t been repainted white yet, but we’ll be keeping an eye on it.
Last week, we saw the concrete outside of the First Aid, Baby Care Center and restrooms had been scored, marking it for removal and replacement in the near future. Today we saw that removal had already begun, with large sections already gone and replaced with painted plywood installed to fit over the holes left by the missing concrete. We suspect this was done in order to keep these amenities accessible throughout the refurbishment process.
Guests lined up early this morning outside of Sir Mickey’s hoping that the October edition of the Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction Collection would be available to purchase today.
The line far exceeded the social distancing markers installed outside of the shop, and was impossible to capture in one photograph as it wrapped around several corners. The Limited Edition merchandise was not available, and, after the shop opened, these guests quickly dispersed to other locations.
While we didn’t find the desired Limited Edition Haunted Mansion merchandise, we did find this fun Haunted Mansion lanyard. The iconic glowing eyes are on one side and images of well known characters from the attraction are on the other. This lanyard is available at the Emporium for $12.99.
We found another hat, this one perfect for rainbow enthusiasts. Featuring a rainbow brim with a castle silhouette and “Walt Disney World” printed across the front, this is the perfect hat for showing off your pride for the park. This is a new hat, but it also qualifies for the ongoing 30% off Rainbow Collection sale. We found this hat at Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. for $27.99.
We found a popular Spirit Jersey finally for sale in the park, having sold out on shopDisney in the blink of an eye. This cosplay-inspired Spirit Jersey of Buzz Lightyear is perfect for the Toy Story enthusiast, it even has his wing details down the sleeves. For more pictures and information, see our article here.
We found this new ladies shirt featuring Stitch and the phrase “Stay Weird” at the Emporium for $36.99.
It matched these new Stitch ankle length leggings perfectly, which we also found at the Emporium, and retail for $39.99.
With Halloween right around the corner, some people are still getting ready for Christmas. We found this glass ornament set at Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe for $34.99.
Last, but certainly not least, we found a new sale—this light-up Halloween pumpkin bucket, regularly $19.99, is now $10.00. Don’t forget to use your discount on top of this sale! We’ve had our eye on this handsome pumpkin for quite a while now, we’re glad we waited!
We caught the last few minutes of Winnie the Pooh & Friends out on their Halloween cavalcade today, and noticed that while Piglet was missing, Rabbit had joined in on the fun. We love his pumpkin pants!
We had a great day at the Magic Kingdom, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
