Make it pink… make it blue! As the transformation of the Magic Kingdom toll plaza continues ahead of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary, we’ve noticed some new accents added to the toll booths and lettering along the entrance. Let’s take a closer look!
These changes are apparent as you drive up to enter, so keep looking up if you’re traveling through the toll plaza to check for any new flourishes of color!
As we approach, you’ll notice a band of gold along the top and middle of the toll booths. Look closely at the W in “Welcome” and you’ll see a slight sheen of rose gold, almost akin to Cinderella Castle’s new look.
Looking back past the toll booths, you can see how the gilded toll booths glimmer in the morning sun.
Here’s a closer look at the rose gold lettering. So far, these first two letters have been painted gold, but it seems on top of that, they’re getting a layer of rose-tinted paint, for almost a rose-gold effect.
The flags along the top of the toll plaza have also been “dipped in gold”, with a bold, near-bronze color.
Work is expected to continue on the Magic Kingdom toll plaza for the next few weeks, closing off sections of the entrance as necessary. What do you think of the new look for the 50th anniversary? Let us know in the comments!
Bright and cheery to dark and dingy. Yay!
One of the things I feel like Disney should really work on is the park entrances. Parking lot entrances need to be neat and presentable but the parks are lacking. It was the only thing my husband (he’d never been to WDW before) had said he was really disappointed in. Going into the parks there was no WOW factor at the gates.
I was diggin the darker blue and gold trim but they lost me at rose gold. I don’t mind rose gold in general but I’m not a fan of how they used it here.
