The entrance sign for EPCOT’s future Space 220 Restaurant was installed last month, but still covered by a tarp. Today the tarp has fallen away, partially revealing the sign.

Space 220 is located next to Mission: SPACE in what will be known as the World Discovery neighborhood.

The sign features the restaurant’s futuristic logo, resting atop landscaping and the big blue dot we call home—Earth. Guests will dine in a space station 220 miles above our home planet.

The restaurant has had its fair share of troubles, like losing its executive chef and multiple delays even before the COVID-19 pandemic paused most construction at Walt Disney World. Recently, some fencing was taken down from around the restaurant, and it’s currently slated to open sometime this winter, although further delays are expected.

  1. From what I heard, when Mission Space first opened, there was supposed to be a restaurant next to it. However because of budget, it never got completed and was turned into a storage area. Although I think that this restaurant is going to be more realistic because of enhanced technology we have in this decade.
