Everyone who’s been to Disney’s Polynesian Resort most certainly knows about ‘Ohana. The restaurant experience remains a favorite of Walt Disney World fans since its opening in 1995. While ‘Ohana has not reopened since the pandemic shutdown, its neighbor, Tambu Lounge has. With ‘Ohana still closed, Tambu Lounge has expand into ‘Ohana’s seating area to make room for more guests.
This section to the right of the bar has been open since Tambu Lounge reopened back in August.
The section behind the bar is now open for guests of Tambu Lounge. With social distancing becoming increasingly more difficult since more crowds have shown up at Walt Disney World, it comes as no surprise that Tambu Lounge would be looking for more space.
Though it may not be practical to have ‘Ohana up and running at this point, Disney can make use of the empty tables by allowing Tambu Lounge to use them.
Tambu Lounge is in its second week of using the space from ‘Ohana.
So when ‘Ohana failed to open after the reopening of parks in July, many of their diehard foodie fans were disappointed. Many missed their ‘Ohana noodles. If you’re missing them too, we’ve got the next best thing – an “‘Ohana means noodles” t-shirt from Carousel of Products!
‘Ohana devotees can now experience the atmosphere of their favorite dining spot even though they won’t be able to enjoy the whole meal. As of right now, this expanded seating area is in use on Fridays and Saturdays only.
