Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover Refurbishment Extended Through December 26

Guests will need to wait a bit longer to take a trip on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover at the Magic Kingdom. The refurbishment calendar shows the attraction will not open until December 27, 2020 at the earliest.

This is the third date change since the refurbishment was announced. Disney had initially projected an October 31 completion date. That date slipped to the end of November. In each instance, a month was added to the refurbishment timeline.

According to the My Disney Experience app, December 26, 2020 is the final scheduled day for the refurbishment.

Work continues on the attraction, with structural support work and permits being filed as signs of progress.

The attraction has not operated since the Magic Kingdom reopened July 11, 2020.

  1. I wonder if this is still closed because of COVID. Once the trains leave the station there is no way to be sure everyone keeps their masks on. Makes me sad as it is my favorite magic kingdom ride.

  2. I know this is going to sound upsetting, but I’m predicting it’s going to end up like primeval whirl, were it’s closure kept being extended and then Disney made it seasonal, and then closed it down permanently. But really I hope it does not
