In the first completed NBA final held within a Walt Disney World bubble, the Los Angeles Lakers have won against the Miami Heat 106-93. This marks the 17th NBA championship win for the team, but their first win on The Most Magical Place on Earth. And where are the teams going to celebrate their win? Home. They’re going home after months within the NBA bubble on Walt Disney World property.

To celebrate their win, Disney has lit up Cinderella Castle in purple and gold to celebrate the Lakers:

Are you happy with the results of this year’s finals? It’s certainly been interesting to see the NBA take over Walt Disney World over the past few months.

  1. What a long, strange trip this year has been. But I’ve got to give the NBA credit — they worked with Walt Disney World to find a SAFE way to finish the season (unlike the other sports with all the positive tests), and it must have been VERY strange for the NBA players and staff involved to be sequestered at Walt Disney World (I can think of worse places to be isolated, but…it was still isolation, and I know that can be hard even with nice amenities).

Kudos to all the teams who worked together to make the season happen, and congrats to the Lakers — but also to the other teams who worked under VERY odd circumstances.

I’m glad the Magic Kingdom payed tribute to the winners, since all those games were AT Walt Disney World.
