UPDATE: Representatives from Disney have reached out to WDWNT to state that these vehicles were not for sale.

Minnie Vans are back, but not in the way we’d expect. After mass layoffs and rumors of the service being discontinued indefinitely, a member of the “The Secret Disney Group” Facebook group has spotted two retired Minnie Vans for sale at their local Chevrolet dealer.

These Suburbans were introduced in 2018, mainly as transportation to and from Port Canaveral for Disney Cruise Line. According to the poster, the cars are going for $45,000.

Minnie Vans launched in 2017 as an alternative means of Disney-owned transportation around Walt Disney World Resort, in partnership with ride share service Lyft. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, they were unable to continue operating and were rumored to be retired back in July before the theme parks reopened. It was finally confirmed in October that Minnie Van service had ended permanently. Minnie Van Cast Members were laid off and the fleet was returned to Chevrolet. These two Minnie Vans for sale further confirm the service won’t be returning.

  1. They are asking way too much for those vehicles. Their use at Disney World doesn’t change their value and depreciation.

  2. We did it twice in 2018 and loved it. As others have pointed out before, it was a rare opportunity to have a knowledgeable CM all to yourself. My kids enjoyed it as a treat and it felt nice to have that car pull up for you. Now, my family and I had literally never used a ride share before or since, so take that for what its worth. The price seems to be what most nay sayers hung on. Yes, it was more expensive than actual Lyft or Uber. But if the cost difference between Uber and Minnie Van was going to break your several thousand dollar Disney trip, I don’t know what to tell you.

  3. We loved using the Minnie Van service. We always had great service. I hate they aren’t going to be in use any longer.

  4. Used the service on a trip and it made transportation between resort hotels easy with superior service. The cast member was very friendly and provided us behind the scenes facts and information about the areas we drove through. Very different from a normal ride sharing experience. Felt more like personal car service. Hope it can return one day when things are different.

  5. They were actually very handy going from Animal Kingdom Lodge to Magic Kingdom as you got dropped off right at the bus stop area. Cost more but if you had a tight timing issue then it was very convenient to use.

  6. We did use the service. Skye was our driver the night of January 20, 2019. She was fabulous, picking us up at the Polynesian and returning us to Saratoga Springs. My Minnie fan friend was so very delighted.

  7. I used the Minnie Vans several times. I loved them! They were a fun and safe way to get to places on property, especially when trying to make a dining reservation or Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group!

  8. As a driver you have most of your info wrong. As usual. I am on recall and we are confirmed to be returning. The vehicles being sold are old retired vehicles that have been replaced. As the person who sent the fake rumor we were closing I’m right

  9. I read on another website that Disney confirmed they were actually just there for service and are not for sale 👀

  10. That’s too bad for Disney, however, if one were to purchase the vehicle and maintain it without too much wear and tear it would be worth a fortune in 50 years or so. Imagine what it would be worth in a Hundred years.

  11. I did use the Minnie van at WDW in 2019. The driver was great, the trip seemed so short because she was so bubbly, informative and interested in our day. Great classic Disney music in the stereo, it was a pricey but so Disney way to get around the resorts. I for one am saddened at the loss.

  12. Is That For 1 or Both?
    NEW Suburbans Go For 50K+
Yet “Decked Out In Minnie Color Paint Scheme” Just ONE of These Used Will GO Over 45K++
    Due To Nostalgia
And Being A LARGER SUV, Rarer Then The Mini Van’s Used Mostly On WDW Property!
It Would NOT Suprise ME If One Went For Over 100K (if properly authenticated)

    Thanks For Posting

    The Best
    Joe

  13. The Minnie Van service saved our bacon a couple times when we were running short on time for a reservation. The vehicles were luxury and the cast member drivers where amazing to talk to, very knowledgeable and friendly. Sad to see this service end.

  14. We loved the Minnie Van’s. We were a group of 10 with 3 people using ECVs. We would call in the morning and 2 vans would arrive. Always got to the parks before opening with no hassles. If we waited for busses which only fit 2 scooters we never would have made it in time. Best money we invested the whole trip. The drivers were really nice and shared fun facts about the parks on our drive. I will truly miss the Minnie Vans

  15. I have a child in a wheelchair and the Minnie Vans made our experience so much more enjoyable. I’m so so sad they are gone. I’m not sure how we are going to replicate that easy travel method when we return.

  16. This is VERY Scary. They Should have been repainted!!!
These could land in the wrong hands and something horrible could happen… People thinking that its affiliated with Disney still and getting in with the wrong person. Just a BAD MOVE!!

  17. Yes! The service was amazing. We drove from Animal Kingdom Lodge back to our hotel at Port Riverside. The cast member was super friendly and said we could loop around anywhere on property, including the McDs! But we were exhausted so we opted for the direct trip. I just wanted to try it out. It was a flat fee of $25, plus tip at our discretion of course.

  18. 45k ? are you Crazy .. PLEASE take the wrapper off .. O M G that is so WRONG .. its a wrap for God sake .. Take it OFF .. How old it this Car or SUV ??

  19. We used them a couple of times earlier this year. Made it easier to get to some dinner reservations on time and for quick ride back for a nap before extended hours.

  20. That is so terrible. The Minnevan was so awesome…expensive, but awesome. But maybe Disney will bring it back in a few years when the pandemic is behind us and Disney is back to normal capacity and demand for the Minnevan comes back.
