Disneyland Resort is now offering mobile checkout through the Disneyland app, allowing guests to pay for merchandise without standing in line for a register.
Signs throughout World of Disney in Downtown Disney District have signs up informing guests of mobile checkout. Once guests open up the Disneyland app, they can select the “Shop in Store – Now Testing” option from the menu.
Guests should then grab a designated mobile checkout shopping bag from a Cast Member. As you shop, you can scan items in the store and add them to your bag.
When you’re done shopping, you simply click “Check Out” and go through the payment steps. If you’re an Annual Passholder, your discount will be automatically applied to your order.
You will then be given a QR code to show to a Cast Member at the exit so they can confirm your payment.
Mobile checkout is currently in a testing phase, so it’s possible elements of it might change later. Will you be trying mobile checkout on your next trip to Downtown Disney District? Let us know in the comments.
I would absolutely use this. Some grocery stores and “bulk buy membership clubs” have this, and it’s the only way I shop when it’s an option. I’m guessing the clear bags and a randomly scanned item by a cast member will try to reduce theft. Looking forward to seeing this at Disney Springs / WDW if all goes well in California!
