Even more final touches are on the way for the France Pavilion expansion, home to the upcoming Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure attraction, which is now officially set to open in 2021.
As we passed over the pavilion aboard the Disney Skyliner, we noticed painting going on, with crates of paint and painting tools, plus what seem like mock-ups of the artwork to be painted onto the expansion walls.
We spotted what seems like the beginning of an Art Nouveau-style mural, with a swirl of gold paint against a light blue background in one of the recessed walls of the facade.
In another recessed section of the facade (to the right), another green-and-white painting is coming together. It took a lot of effort to build the expansion, but it’s fascinating watching these artists give it the final touches that will help it truly stand out.
Over by the main boulevard, we see how nicely the varying types of tiles come together to form a cobblestone street.
A number of fresh flowers have been planted along the windowsills—you can tell by the bright pink pop of color.
Over by the Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure marquee sign, it seems they’re doing some last-minute touches, possibly filling in any pieces of gold leaf that were damaged during the installation.
Despite delays, the France Pavilion expansion and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure seem to finally be coming together—however it’s unknown exactly when in 2021 they’ll open, likely in Spring.
