If you’re looking to spend New Year’s Eve somewhere special, it’s likely not going to be at a Walt Disney World theme park.
All four parks are fully booked for Park Pass reservations on December 31st. As of yesterday, no reservations were available for Annual Passholders, while only EPCOT and Disney’s Animal Kingdom remained open to Theme Park Ticket and Disney Resort guests. Park Passes were last replenished for the day on December 11th.
By this morning, reservations were completely unavailable for the two remaining parks for both resort guests and those with theme park tickets.
With New Year’s Eve typically bringing capacity crowds to the parks, it seemed an inevitability that it would repeat, even in reduced capacity, this year. Despite the parks being fully booked, none of them will be open at midnight, and no special festivities will be offered in compliance with COVID-19 restrictions. Instead, Walt Disney World Resort hotels will feature festive activities, with prerecorded fireworks and holiday offerings available to stream on in-resort televisions. Many hotel lounges and quick-service restaurants will be open until 1 AM that night.
