Despite the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products segment recording a loss of $1.1 billion in Q4 2020, during today’s Investor Day 2020, shares of The Walt Disney Company reached their highest-ever closing price at $154.43 a share.

The uptick in share price can be attributed to promising announcements made during today’s Investor Day 2020 presentation. Disney has shifted their entire business model to prioritize direct-to-consumer content, and their investment in Disney+ is proving to pay off, with the streaming service now surpassing 86.8 million subscribers as of December 2.
