A Disneyland Resort Cast Member has tragically passed away from COVID-19, but he is far from forgotten.
Michael worked in the resort’s entertainment division, which includes parades and stage shows. A coworker, Amber Campos, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help assist the family at this difficult time, writing:
Michael was loved by so many. So many lives did he touch with laughter and hope. From weddings to parades, and phone calls to come in for a shift. He was a friend, brother, sweetheart, hard worker, best friend, work husband, son, dancer, singer, and performer. He was so many things to so many different people. These funds will go to his family and hopefully bring some hope at this time. Michael, it was an honor to be one of your leads, but to also work along side you. So much love for you. Rest In Peace
The pandemic has kept the theme parks closed since March, with only the Downtown Disney District and select shops and restaurants in Disney California Adventure open to guests. Earlier this month, ICU capacity dipped below 15%, triggering a stay-at-home order in Orange County, home to the resort.
As of the writing of this article, the campaign has raised $2,865. You can help Michael’s family by donating at this link.

My manager José Umana passed from covid on Friday. He was a wonderful night manager, and had also been a manager for Downtown Disney. He was a husband, a father, a friend. He rode in bicycle marathons to raise money for MS.
