Hello World Travelers, and welcome to another chilly day here at EPCOT! We just couldn’t get enough of the Festival of the Holidays, so we decided to come back for another day of fun around World Showcase. Let’s get started!
We started off our day by checking in on the many construction projects underway around the park. First off was the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind building. In addition to the progress we saw on the building’s facade yesterday, today we saw a large leap forward in the number of wood panels installed on the roof. Almost half of the roof is covered now.
We checked on the Play! Pavilion, but all has been quiet there for some time now. No new progress was found there today.
While we found Innoventions West completely gutted a few days ago, today we found the exterior wall closest to Spaceship Earth had been blown out, leaving the building completely end to end.
Standing up on the overlook near the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival building, you can now look through Innoventions West and see the base of Spaceship Earth.
Moving into World Showcase, we looked out onto the Lagoon and found changes are being made to one of the concrete islands in the middle of the Lagoon. A front loader is out there, along with an extra floating dock of some kind.
At the France Pavilion expansion, more details have been added to the hand painted wall art. What appear to be swirls have been added to the blue and pink areas.
In the Morocco Pavilion, we were surprised to see workers cleaning out closed portions of the Pavilion with the park open to guests. Furniture was being cleared out of the closed shops when we went through the Pavilion, and taken away backstage.
We checked in at Mouse Gear and found that the deal on holiday merchandise found at the Magic Kingdom was here as well. While there are some exclusions, most holiday merchandise is now 30% off, including ears and Spirit Jerseys! Plus any existing discounts stack on top of this promotion, so Annual Passholders, for example, can use their discount on top of this sale. We’re definitely taking advantage of this and going shopping!
We found another deal at the World ShowPlace Events Pavilion on Twinings Tea. Twinings Tea boxes are on sale for $5 each when you buy four boxes. They have Peppermint Cheer and Winter Spice in ShowPlace, two of the holiday flavors, but the sale is also going on in The Tea Caddy, the shop in the United Kingdom Pavilion that sells an impressive selection of Twinings Tea. There you can mix and match flavors of boxes to your heart’s content and take advantage of this sale.
Just when we thought maybe things were slowing down in the Limited Edition pin world, we found a whole new set of them today. In honor of Toy Story’s 25th anniversary, several Limited Edition pins were released today, and we were there to find them. You can check out the full collection here!
