Having made swift work on its refurbishment, the completed Walt Disney World entrance archway at Western Way has finally been unveiled, welcoming guests to “The Most Magical Place on Earth”.

The completed sign features prominent gold and royal blue colors, with a white Walt Disney World light-up sign and a new golden banner.

Golden flags were recently installed above the entrance archway. These represent Walt Disney World’s golden fiftieth anniversary, which the resort will celebrate next year. Similar to the Magic Kingdom toll plaza refurbishment, you can see there’s been a faint iridescent pink sheen also added to these.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse will remain unchanged on these completed entrances, although the characters certainly pop against the blue background.

Work continues on the entrance at Hotel Plaza Boulevard, which does not have an archway. We expect work to begin soon on the remaining three entrances to Walt Disney World:

  • World Drive
  • World Center Drive
  • Osceola Parkway

Above, you can see concept art of approximately what all of the final entrance archways will look like upon completion.

  1. Beautiful! Curious how the flags shine in the sunlight and how the ‘Walt Disney World’ lettering and lighting package looks at night!
