After months of construction, the new lockers have opened next to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

These add far more storage space for guests looking to ride the attraction before they enter the queue. The locker area inside of Hogwarts is a small space that was already difficult to navigate before social distancing was required.

Signage near the queue entrance directs guest to the locker banks, which are to the left of the attraction.

Because of the ride’s popularity, there’s ample space for people to line up, offering unique views of Hogwarts as well as Flight of the Hippogriff.

You really get a sense of the massive scale of the castle from below.

In keeping with the theming of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the lockers have been set inside small caverns. There are three “caverns” of lockers to accommodate guests.

The banks offer both free and paid options. As you’ll see below, there are significant size differences between the two lockers. Lockers are available for free while guests ride the attraction, with a cost of $3.00 for every 20 minutes afterward up to $20.00 per day, while the paid lockers cost $2.00 while guests, with the same rates as the free lockers afterward. Cash and credit cards are accepted.

The free lockers can be seen on the left, with the much larger paid lockers on the right. Another group of free lockers are on the right of the paid ones.

Guests scan their park ticket to obtain a locker. A credit card reader below the scanner helps guests pay for any additional fees.

For fans of theme park design, it’s also worth looking up and taking in just how detailed the rock work is. Cleverly, the other side also blends into the jungle theme of Jurassic Park.

And once your stuff is safely stowed, you can join Harry, Ron and Hermione on an adventure through Hogwarts!

Meanwhile, the old lockers seem to have already been de-emphasized.

The sign at the attraction’s exit is still up, but the doors have been closed.

Guests still exit this way and have to go back to the entrance to access the lockers.
