Celebrate Tokyo Disneyland Projection Show

Tokyo Disneyland Testing Projections & Fireworks on Cinderella Castle

While Tokyo Disneyland has been without a permanent nighttime spectacular since April 2019, the Oriental Land Company has been tight-lipped about the future of nighttime entertainment at the park, with only a seasonal show last summer filling the void left by Celebrate! Tokyo Disneyland‘s departure. But according to some Guests staying at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, we may be very close to the next nighttime spectacular at Tokyo Disneyland!

Celebrate Tokyo Disneyland Projection Show

Guests staying at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel this week have reported tests of projections and even pyrotechnics coming from the Cinderella Castle area during overnight hours.

Twitter user @yd31171 posted a video from his hotel room showing pyrotechnics being shot from the area surrounding Cinderella Castle overnight, only used in castle shows.

These tests have been going on for at least a week, with projection mapping tests being seen as early as December 18th.

@Ao_mickeyxoxo also reported that the spotlights around the castle were being tested during park hours on the evening of December 22nd.

User @mickeymania1988 also spotted workers inside the show control booths in the Castle Forecourt, as well as work underway on the two towers that hold castle stage lights and the flamethrowers.

Although the Oriental Land Company has not mentioned any news regarding any entertainment returning to Tokyo Disney Resort aside from next year’s new Believe! Sea of Dreams nighttime spectacular at Tokyo DisneySea, these reports are undoubtedly a sign that OLC is looking to return nighttime entertainment to Tokyo Disneyland as well in the near future.
