Walt Disney World has filed a third permit for construction at Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom. The previous two permits were for “general construction” while this new one is for labor and materials.
The contractor providing “labor, material and/or electrical” is Buena Vista Construction Company, Disney’s in-house construction firm. The first two permits contracted Icarus Exhibits Inc, which specializes in set pieces, and Coastel Steel Inc, which creates steel structures. Buena Vista Construction Company will be providing workers, construction vehicles, lighting, and other general materials needed.
Though we still don’t know the exact nature of this construction, it’s likely related to the park’s 50th anniversary in October 2021. The castle has already received a major makeover this year, but we could be seeing some fresh set pieces celebrating the anniversary soon.
