BREAKING: The Hall of Presidents Now Closed for Refurbishment at Magic Kingdom

With Donald Trump’s last day in office, so too comes the end of the latest version of The Hall of Presidents at the Magic Kingdom. The unannounced final day of operation for the latest version of the show was January 19th, 2021.

With no announcement, fanfare, or word to the media, Disney has already closed the Hall of Presidents on the eve of Joe Biden’s inauguration, according to the Walt Disney World website. While Disney hasn’t formally announced anything yet, it can be assumed that Biden will be added to the attraction (in audio-animatronic form, of course) with a speaking role.

It’s unclear at this time how much more of the attraction will change as this is the first time a version of the show only existed for one Presidential term, only lasting just over 3 years.

If you missed it, or just want to see the former version of the Hall of Presidents, you can watch the full presentation below:

  1. This isn’t the first time the show was in existence for a one term president?? How can they say that? What about George W Bush? Or Jimmy Carter?

    • So, the show wouldn’t be modified for a new president early on, they would only add them into the lineup at the end. These are simple AAs with limited movement. Once they started to give them speaking roles, then it required more significant work to be done and was accompanied with a full show change (more advanced figure, new video, new narration etc.). The show was mostly the same from 1971-1993.

  2. George H.W. Bush was also a one term president so wouldn’t that have been the first time since the attraction opened that it had to be updated after just one term?

I also wonder if this is really closed for its refurb or if they’ve just closed it today for safety reasons and will reopen again until Biden is ready to be added.

  3. The statement that it’s the first time a version was open for 1 term couldn’t be true as the attraction opened in 1971 and there have been 1 term presidents since then. Most recently George H. W. Bush from 1989-1993. Or is it only recently that Disney started updating at each new president (which I would find surprising)?

  4. Disney is acting fast this time! I am not personally in love with The Hall of Presidents, but it’s an institution for the parks. I’m glad Disney is making sure a proper politician is being added to the mix ASAP

  5. I’m curious, when adding a new AA, about how long is the attraction closed for? One month? Six months?

  6. I hope they add Biden quickly :) I plan on being there in July!! Love stopping in and seeing the show. Last time I was there in December 2020. Can’t wait to see Biden added!
