As Walt Disney World Resort continues to prepare for its 50th Anniversary Celebration, the repainting of the Osceola Parkway Entrance Sign is moving very quickly. The visible work on the sign started only yesterday morning, but there has already been a lot of progress.
These first photos were taken just a few hours after yesterday’s update at around 10am.
This morning the crews focused on the Minnie Mouse side of the sign, with Minnie covered in a protective plastic. The crews were working on the right columns, which were getting primed. The sign to the right of Minnie that says “Welcome to Walt Disney World Resort” also got a priming job.
By the afternoon (around 4:30pm), both of the columns supporting Minnie had been completely primed, along with most of her surroundings.
At that point, the sign to the right of Minnie was already completed, and now has a fresh coat of navy blue paint.
The process certainly seems to be moving faster than it did at the other entrances.
What do you think of the Osceola sign refurbishment thus far? Let us know in the comments below!
I think, once a year, Disney should open Osceola Parkway for high speed passes for their most loyal patrons. Imagine racing under that Disney World sign at 105 miles per hour! That really would be a dream come true!
