With all the construction and new projects going on, EPCOT is very much a park in flux. But the Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts will feature work honoring EPCOT’s past.

The “Drawing on Inspiration” gallery near the Imagination! Pavilion features construction wall art by two Walt Disney Imagineers, Jimmy Pickering and Morgan Lee Richardson, that pays tribute to beloved EPCOT attractions.

Pickering’s style has a more cartoonish aesthetic, while Richardson deploys collages of elements from the pavilions EPCOT fans love. Now, let’s take a stroll around the gallery

The Journey into Imagination works both focus on the dragon that has come to be the ambassador of the park, Figment! Keep an eye out for the glass paneling of the pavilion’s pyramids, and the Dreamfinder’s hat!

For World of Motion, Pickering has focused on the sea serpent that delighted guests from 1982 to 1996, while Richardson celebrates all the modes of transportation featured in the ride, as well as the logo of its successor, Test Track.

We welcome you to The Living Seas, where both artists have put an emphasis on the aquatic creatures you can “sea” at the pavilion. Did you spot the entrance mural?

Feel the flow! There’s dinosaurs galore on the art for the Universe of Energy, as well as a nod to the building’s design and the entrance mosaic.

You can choose your favorite piece honoring Horizons. Whether you love Brava Centauri, Mesa Verde or Sea Castle, it’s a bright future for all.

Next, we’re looking at the beauty of The Land. You can witness a forest scene in winter, or ride by a collection of biomes.

Finally, we come to the icon of EPCOT, Spaceship Earth. Pickering has flipped the pavilion’s logo while showing of those beloved panels. Meanwhile, Richardson features a night scene of the entrance fountain in front.

These panels are expected to be up through the entire festival, which runs from January 8th through February 22nd. (Sadly, lovers of CommuniCore and Wonders of Life will have to create art of their own elsewhere.)

  1. Because they are focused on spending money on things that matter… like decorative tarps and painting signs.
