It’s been well over a year since the Leave A Legacy monoliths were removed from the entrance of EPCOT. This program let guests get a photo of themselves preserved on a metal plaque. With the announcement of their removal, Disney assured guests Leave A Legacy would live on in a new spot just outside EPCOT’s gates. Though COVID-19 has caused construction delays throughout Walt Disney World, scrims have been up over the new Leave A Legacy locations.
The two new Leave A Legacy locations are past security checkpoints before entering EPCOT. They are likely more visible to guests when leaving the park.
It is believed that these metal supports will hold the Leave a Legacy displays, making a long fence or wall between the pathway and the planters.
In theory, these green scrims will leave and the old metal photograph displays mounted on these walls in some way.
On the other side of the plaza is the second location for Leave A Legacy.
These support walls line both sides of the exit corridor on this side.
This stretch of scrim covers much more space than the scrim on the other side. There will be way more of the Leave a Legacy tiles on this side.
Essentially, the tiles are mounted to security barriers, a stand-in for the large, ugly green fencing that has been recently installed at other parks during these entry area revamps.
Disney has yet to confirm this as the Leave a Legacy location, but it seems highly likely.
Keep checking WDWNT for updates about the transformation of EPCOT.
