A refurbishment of Rivers of America is currently underway at the Magic Kingdom. Work is continuing in the now dry riverbed as well as on Tom Sawyer Island. Construction crews are working on and near Harper’s Mill, which is behind scaffolding.
An overview of the Harper’s Mill site shows workers and equipment in the drained Rivers of America. Construction supplies are stored beneath a short canopy.
Harper’s Mill is surrounded by scaffolding. A fresh coat of red paint has been applied.
Rock work has been added in along the riverbank, directly in front of the mill.
Workers are also busy on the waterwheel side of Harper’s Mill. There appears to be some new wood even.
The dry riverbed allows construction vehicles to enter the area. Orange and white construction barriers protect the Liberty Square Riverboat track during construction.
The track guides the Liberty Belle on its journey around the Rivers of America.
The dry riverbed has been graded. Note the tire tracks inside the track.
Near the log raft dock, workers are running pipe below grade.
The pipe is likely part of a pump system used to control water in the Rivers of America.

I think Disney should turn this area into Tiana island. It’s much more fitting for this attraction than in Frontierland!
