The Three Caballeros are back together on Gran Fiesta Tour in EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion, but not how we expected…

After a malfunction, Donald’s audio-animatronic has been missing for several weeks now. As of today, Panchito and Jose’s animatronics were also removed and all three were replaced with flat cutouts of the characters.

Last summer, Jose’s animatronic also experienced a malfunction and was removed from the attraction for a period of time. It seems the animatronics have proven faulty enough for them to all be removed for refurbishment. At least we hope they’re fixing them…

The animatronics were all part of the opening day Magic Kingdom attraction, Mickey Mouse Revue. They were only added to Gran Fiesta Tour a few years ago, before which a cartoon of the Three Caballeros played in the attraction’s final scene.

Watch our video of the current iteration of the final scene below.

  1. Well isn’t that scary. Maybe next the Rhino scene on the Jungle Cruise will be a cutout too. Grand Fiesta Vision 3D

  2. Wow. If I were asked to explain how Disney Parks management has changed over the last 10-15 years, I would simply show this photo.

    • All 3 animatronics need fixing or are being altered. What would you suggest be put in their place? Or would you rather the entire ride be closed while repairs happen?

Personally, I’m fine with the temporary measures in order to keep the ride going.

  3. Well, it is an improvement over Donald being represented by a basket and a sombrero. I wonder if it’s the beginning of the end for our 3 amigos. Rumors have circulated of the Coco movie taking over. I like the ride. It’s relaxing. It broke down the last time we were there. Boats kept slamming into each other. My spouse who has a bad back yelled with each hit.

    • I was on the ride I believe a few years ago when it broke down. All of us who were stuck just sat there for half an hour with all of the boats packed into a jam, until somebody was smart enough to start moving the boats himself backwards to to a exit that was nearby. My family got out there, and so did a few other families, Don’t know how much longer everyone else stayed for.

  4. Rumors of a Coco boat ride in EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion update. Yes! I love this movie. The Mexico Pavilion ride needs an update just like the Norway Pavilion did years ago.

  5. You would think the easiest solution would be to just play the original projected clip that was here before the animatronics were added or close the curtains. Leave a legacy gravestones would look better then this.

  6. They should just add the animation instead and make that like a sort of B plan in case one of them break again, just like the avatar ride
