REVIEW: NEW Vibrante & Vívido is Full of Color, But Lacking in Flavor at the 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts

Vibrante & Vívido is a brand new food studio created for the 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. EPCOT describes this studio by saying, “Enjoy bright, fresh flavors in dishes both savory and sweet—like a passion fruit mousse or a chilled seafood cocktail. Pair your food with an island-inspired smoothie, piña colada or daiquiri.”

The Vibrante & Vivido queue has signs letting you know about the “bold flavors of South American cuisine” waiting at the food studio.

The food studio also celebrates the iconic art of Mary Blair, as well as the inspiration she drew while on tour of Latin America with Walt Disney during the 1940s.

*NEW* Chilled Seafood Cocktail with Octopus, Scallops, Shrimp, Black Garlic Aïoli, Tomato-Coconut Sauce, and Serrano-Lime Oil – $8.50

vibrante-vivido-5-2

This is the fishiest dish at any EPCOT festival. The Tomato-Coconut sauce and Serrano-Lime oil added a nice tangy flavor with a slight kick, and while it didn’t redeem this dish, it did help make it bearable. Still, we can’t recommend this.

*NEW* Blue Corn Pupusa-stuffed with Cheese and topped with Shredded Pork, Guajillo and Árbol Chile Sauce, Cabbage Slaw, and Aji Amarillo Crema – $6.50

This had a fair amount of spice, although the pupusa was pretty dry. However, the pork is tender and well-prepared.

*NEW* Passion Fruit Mousse with Dragon Fruit Jam – $4.75

This was way too sweet. It’s a great portion for the prize, but the sweetness was too overpowering. We couldn’t taste anything except some white chocolate at the end.

*NEW* Coconut and Passion Fruit Smoothie – $4.50

This is passion fruit forward with a hint of coconut. There’s coconut shavings in it. It might be worth it just for the cute souvenir cup.

*NEW* Frozen Piña Colada – $13.00

vibrante-vivido-2-3

This is a nice drink for a warm day. It’s your standard piña colada, but sometimes that’s all you want.

*NEW* Passion Fruit Daiquiri – $14.00

This tastes like the P.O.G. juice at most Walt Disney World restaurants. We can’t taste the alcohol at all. We wouldn’t recommend this.
