While free MagicBands are no longer offered to resort guests, they can add MagicBands on to their resort stay at a “discounted” price through the Walt Disney World website. In fact, an exciting new option just dropped today…

Just in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th birthday, flashback to the 25th anniversary celebration in 1996 when Cinderella Castle was turned into a giant birthday cake!
It’s time to remember the magic! Who has the song stuck in their head now?
The band is presented ink a complimentary pink, but is accompanied by the stars and Mickey confetti that were ubiquitous all of the decor, merchandise, and more from October 1st, 1996 until December 31st, 1997. I do wish we could see the other side, but here’s hoping for Sorcerer Mickey and the 25th logo.
I had to have one, and the opportunity to customize it could not be passed up…

Do you have to have a resort reservation to get this magic band or can an AP purchase this? I don’t see this band online when I’m ordering magicbands.
Where are you ordering from?
I went to disneyworld.disney.go.com, logged in, clicked on my account when my magicbands are to see if I can buy that one there, nope. Searched magicbands and it taked me to shopdisney and it’s not there.

Do you have an offer to order MagicBands when you click “MagicBands and Cards” under your account?
No. It just says “Ordering and managing status”. When I click on there, it shows all of my magicbands that I’ve linked before and where I can link more but there it’s an option where I can purchase a band. I don’t know how AP’s are able to purchase bands from the site without it taking you to shopdisney and I know that band isn’t on there.
APs used to be entitled to a free band each year. That’s how they would order from the website.
My AP doesn’t end til the end of May. I don’t understand why I can’t do this. I’ll send an email to Disney asking why I can’t purchase this band. This sucks :(
