Greetings, World Travelers, from a beautiful and rather hot day at Walt Disney World! We started out our day at EPCOT to check out what might be new in this ever-changing park. Let’s get started!
Before we even entered the park, we found a new section of Leave A Legacy wall had been installed overnight. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
With construction being our first priority of the day, we found the roof completely removed from this section of the Innoventions West building. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Over at Innoventions East and the future location of Mouse Gear, glass and wood framing for a door have been added to this section. Up until today, the area below the metal beam was empty.
While this area was just cleared dirt yesterday, today it was almost halfway planted with this year’s beautiful design for the International Flower & Garden Festival! We were so impressed by the speed and precision of these gardeners.
We noticed that the support wires for the Butterfly Garden had been tensioned overnight, and that the plastic chain curtain doorways had been put into position. We expect the majority of the landscaping will go in before the netting is added to the structure.
Around World Showcase, the smaller scrim boxes at the top of this staircase in the Canada Pavilion have been removed and the lampposts have returned. The stairs themselves are still closed for refurbishment.
The restrooms in the Morocco Pavilion are still closed and blocked from view by construction walls. No progress has been visible here.
The new La Gelateria booth in the Italy Pavilion is suddenly looking quite close to completion. The front awning is still wrapped in plastic, and it looks like more will be done to the windows in the front, but there’s been a lot of progress over the last week. On our Skyliner flight today we saw work being done to the large circular Harmonious show structure. We hope we get to see this piece out on World Showcase Lagoon soon!
The popular Mezzo Mix in the Germany Pavilion has been taped over on the menu and unavailable for a little over a week now. We were hoping that it would return soon and without incident, but it seems that will not be the case. We hope we can report on the return on this delicious treat soon!
We found another landscaping installation which has arrived ahead of time for the International Flower & Garden Festival, which starts early next month. This “Prehistoric Garden” features fossil rocks among large planters of moss and spiny plants. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
It was a slow day for new merchandise, but we did find these two new shirts at Mouse Gear featuring Mickey Mouse and friends, retailing for $24.99 each.
We had a wonderful time at EPCOT, but we weren’t done just yet! We decided to head to Disney Springs to see what might be new there before calling it a day.
We found visible work being done at Splitsville Luxury Lanes, with windows being removed from this section.
It seems like every time we visit Disney Springs, a new section of this brickwork is being worked on. Today we found two strips of it under construction, with a two-part system in place.
The sections that were open and could be walked on were covered in black felt-like fabric, which was held down on either end and taped along the edge to keep it in place.
The bricks inside the crowd barriers appeared to have been recently set, and weren’t ready to be walked on yet.
We found the popular Cinderella Castle cookie jar had been restocked at World of Disney. There were quite a few of them there for guests eager for this unique piece of kitchen decor.
With a find like that, we felt things couldn’t get any better, and decided to end on a high note. We had a wonderful time at Walt Disney World today, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
