Welcome to a busy Presidents’ Day weekend here at the Universal Orlando Resort. We arrived early this morning and made our way over to Islands of Adventure first to see what’s happening over there.

The parks have hit capacity the last two days, but today it did not.

The line for Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure was a 150 minute wait right after park opening and the end of the line stretched all the way to Fire Eater’s Grill in the Lost Continent.

Hogsmeade is always busy, especially on mornings with Early Park Admission. Flight of the Hippogriff even had a 75 minute wait right away.

The cameras on Jurassic Park River Adventure weren’t working, so there would be no on ride photos today.

As we passed by the skill games in Jurassic Park, we were tempted to stop and play the Dino Dash Up for one of the Indominus Rex pillows. We’re now the proud owners of a new Jurassic World pillow.

Skull Island: Reign of Kong was at capacity not long after the park opened this morning. When a ride is at capacity, it’s best to keep an eye on the Universal Orlando app for the queue to reopen.

Over at Universal Studios Florida, we stopped into Studio Sweets and found something really interesting. Guests can now help themselves to bulk candy with the addition of an inflating glove machine. Check out our post for more details and our video to see this little machine in action.

Some of the signs over Universal Studios’ Classic Monsters Cafe have been refreshed. The Wolf Man has been missing, but the bright new banners look great on this corner of the restaurant. We hope to see the missing and faded signs over the entrance get replaced soon, too. This is one of our favorite themed restaurants in the park!

A short rain shower sent people looking for cover.

An additional New Orleans tasting booth has appeared near Gramercy Park, next to the Brazil and Colombia booths. You can find beignets here and two new coffee drinks. Stay tuned for our full review of these additional beverages.

If you’re shopping for new apparel in the Wizarding World, you can always stop into Madame Malkin’s in Diagon Alley and have them embroidered.

The E.T. Adventure was at an 80 minute wait during the afternoon. That’s our cue to get out of here.
