As of 2:00 PM today, February 16, both the Express Monorail and Resort Monorail lines at Magic Kingdom have been down for over two hours.

At Magic Kingdom, the Monorail entrances were roped off. Around 1:00 PM, a Cast Member there told us they were doing final safety checks, but the Monorails did not reopen any time soon after.

In Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, there was a “Monorail Closed” sign outside the station.

Monorail Lime was parked at the Grand Floridian when we stopped by at 2:00 PM, though we can’t be sure if Lime was having issues or another Monorail.

Monorail Red recently returned from refurbishment and the Monorail station at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort remains under construction. Keep checking WDWNT for updates.

  1. Only people staying at monorail line hotels use them now. We stayed at a moderate last time, and I didn’t have an occasion to ride the monorail (first time ever). The monorail didn’t run to EPCOT from the TCC either. It was very odd being in EPCOT and never seeing the monorail glide by.
