The facade of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT has been mostly enclosed with wood paneling, which means synthetic sheeting is the next layer to be placed.
The blue synthetic underlayment already covers the roof of the building where (we think) solar panels will eventually be installed.
The stairs leading up to the roof have been removed, which indicates work is done there until further notice.
Scaffolding is visible in the corner of the building.
Pink insulation peeks out from behind structural beams.
The new blue sheeting is at the front and center portion of the building.
There are also a couple strips to the sides of the lefthand entrance.
Blue sheets have not been placed around the righthand entrance (at least not that we can see from behind construction walls).
The synthetic underlayment keeps the wood paneling protected from the elements.
There is also scaffolding in the left corner.
Below is concept art of what the building will approximately look like when completely refurbished. Not there are no solar panels on the roof in this art.
This building was previously the Universe of Energy Pavilion and housed Ellen’s Energy Adventure from 1996 to 2017. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind promises to be one of the world’s largest indoor coasters.
Are you excited to join the Guardians on this roller coaster? Let us know in the comments.
I just want to say that the Yzma and Kronk gif was perfect for this blog post and I wanted to let you know and to thank you for that
