Disneyland has been closed since March 14, 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Main Street U.S.A. has been quite dark because of the closure, but last night the entrance to the park seemed to be fully illuminated for the first time in forever.
A Cast Member can be seen with Mickey balloons outside of the front entrance of the park.
More lights are illuminated tonight than we have seen in a very long time. We could hear trucks working inside the park as well. Hopefully this means Disneyland is well on its way to opening in some fashion soon.
Inside the park, the train station and all of Main Street U.S.A. are illuminated once more.
The Emporium marquee is brightly lit.
From what we can see, all of the normal Town Square and Main Street U.S.A lights were fully illuminated.
It is rumored that Disneyland will reopen Main Street U.S.A. on March 14, 2021, exactly one year after the park closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Just like Buena Vista Street has reopened in a limited capacity, shopping and outdoor dining may soon become available at Main Street U.S.A. as well.
Stay tuned here at WDWNT and DLNT for more updates on the phased reopening of the Disneyland Resort.
On Instagram, Six Flags Magic Mountain (in Los Angeles County, California), has announced a Spring 2021 reopening. This is not a Holiday in the Park Drive Through like it was for Christmas. This is a reopening WITH rides. Sounds like a full reopening.
LA County borders on Orange County, California as well. Orange County is the home for Disneyland and DCA as well as Knott’s Berry Farm (Cinder Fair). Therefore will these three Theme Parks reopen and Universal Hollywood as well. It has been rumored that California Theme Parks will reopen for the Summer Season 2021.
