Monorail Red has returned to its rotation on the Express Monorail route with a new look. The interior has been completely refurbished, while the exterior now has black deltas along the red stripe (the inverse of Monorail Black, which was refurbished in 2019).

The black deltas are periodically through the train. The red stripe is also lined in black.

Like other Monorails, there are dividers inside splitting the cars and benches into sections for physical distancing.

The walls behind benches have been painted bright red, with the Walt Disney World logo patterned across the bottom.

The teal seats and wall carpeting are now gone, replaced with sleeker grey and black coloring.

It was still a little dirty near the floor, unfortunately.

A red stripe runs around the ceiling. You won’t be able to forget what Monorail you’re riding.

There are new warning signs above the doors instead of peeling stickers.

You can watch Monorail Red in action below.

You can ride Monorail Red between Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center at Walt Disney World. Monorail Red also made headlines back in 2018 when a malfunction caused one of its doors to remain open while in movement.

  1. i just hope they fixed the hvac and got rid of the horse barn smell. in spite of those problems, i always love riding the monorails. hopefully they come out with a better pin for them?

  2. I wonder what they are going to do about deltas in the stripe on Orange and Coral. The delta were used to help tell those apart. Same with Blue vs Teal. And for Green vs. Lime. (Yes, I know Lime has purple deltas, again, so white or black could work for Green.) Then of course the monorail pilot cast member costume would technically need to be updated to match the new colored stripes. (I have to say, the most recent monorail cast member costume has to be one of my favorites in terms of theming.)
