While Disneyland Paris remains closed until at least April, Sleeping Beauty Castle (Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant) is undergoing refurbishment to prepare for the park’s 30th anniversary in 2022. In an internal video shared with Cast Members, the castle could be seen covered in scaffolding.
According to OutsidEars, new turrets for the castle are under construction offsite and will replace some of the current turrets.
With the park closed, construction is able to move quicker. By April, Sleeping Beauty Castle will be covered with themed scrim hiding any remaining construction work.
Above is what the themed scrim will look like.
Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris is just the latest Disney castle to be refurbished. Sleeping Beauty Castle at the original Disneyland was refurbished in 2019, while Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom was repainted and the reimagined Castle of Magical Dreams opened at Hong Kong Disneyland last year.
