PHOTOS, VIDEO: Universal Studios Store Being Remodeled into Legacy Store Celebrating 30 Years of Park History at CityWalk
The Universal Studios Store in Universal Orlando CityWalk is being remodeled to become a “legacy” store, with merchandise for older films and attractions. Merchandise currently in the store will move to a different location, while merchandise for Jaws, E.T., and more will move in.
The fun starts outside with walls themed to the park’s soundstage, but in the colors that were featured in the early 1990’s.
Walls for soundstage 24 and 25 can be found in the windows.
Team Members weren’t able to confirm or deny any information about the store’s changes, but photos and props are now set up throughout.
Each area seems to have a different theme, with this shelf dedicated to space and aliens.
This shelf holds shots and model pieces from the early days of Universal Studios Florida, including an image of the giant King Kong animatronic from Kongfrontation.
Relics from The Lost Continent areas closed for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter can be found.
There are also movie set items in the store.
This shelving unit has a Western theme.
Here is an image from the Jaws ride.
There are some missiles strapped down in the center of the store.
Crate props are stacked against walls and shelves.
Other sections towards the back are a little more generic at the moment.
The legacy store may be similar to The Film Vault in Universal Studios Florida, which sells merchandise for Back to the Future, Blues Brothers, and more.
The new version of the store may be opening this summer. Are you excited for this possible legacy store? Let us know in the comments!
