PHOTO REPORT: Magic Kingdom 3/8/21 (Gaston’s Fountain Drained, Robin Hood Dooney & Bourke Bags Arrive, Cavalcades Feature Female Characters For International Women’s Day, and More)
Hello from a beautiful day here at the Magic Kingdom! It started out a bit chilly, but it warmed up soon enough, and we had plenty of excitement to keep us going. Let’s get started!
Starting with construction updates, as usual, dditional weatherproofing has been installed on Cinderella Castle stage. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Gaston’s Fountain was off and has been mostly drained of water.
The iconic sign for Gaston’s Tavern has received what may be finishing touches, with shading, weathering, and a gold border done recently.
Work on the illuminated canopy of TRON Lightcycle / Run has accelerated recently, with the outer edge almost completely in place, and only a small portion left open now. We’re always impressed by how many workers we can see in man lifts at a time when we stop by to see the progress.
We found more concrete work in Tomorrowland, this time around the entrance and exit for the Tomorrowland Speedway.
At the entrance to the attraction, carpets had been placed on the fresh cement, allowing guests to safely pass over it to enter the covered queue area.
Today was International Women’s Day, and Walt Disney World celebrated by shining the spotlight on some of the lovely ladies in their Cavalcades today. Clarabelle Cow graced the top of the float for A Goofy Cavalcade today.
We loved seeing this switch!
In merchandise news, we found the Mattel “The Child” doll had won the Toy of the Year Award for 2021. Congratulations Mattel and Grogu!
We found a new Spirit Jersey face mask today perfect for all the rose gold lovers out there. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
We found the new Robin Hood Dooney & Bourke bags at Uptown Jewelers, and we are head over heels in love with this print! This bag was our favorite of the three styles. For more pictures and information on the collection, check out our article here.
Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck were also featured for International Women’s Day on the Mickey & Friends Cavalcade. Minnie Mouse was at the top of the float and Daisy was brought to the front of float.
Seeing these lovely ladies rock the floats down Main Street, USA was amazing!
We had a great day at the Magic Kingdom today, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
