Painting is almost complete at Cinderella Castle in preparation for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort. One of the last roof sections has been finished as of this morning. The castle has seen many changes as the Magic Kingdom gets ready for its golden anniversary.
The two angled roof segments had been sanded and prepared for paint last week. Now, the top section has a brand new style.
The unpainted lower section still shows the old crosshatch pattern with the shimmering finish.
On the freshly refurbished roof, the chevron is more pronounced than before, but the big story is the return to the more traditional blue (even if darker than in previous iterations).
The chevron uses two lighter blue shades, which are not seen elsewhere on the castle at this time.
The back of the angled roof piece has been painted the same royal blue it would seem.
The 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort will be later this year, on October 1st. The celebrations will last for 18 months.

Yes! Now that looks so much better!!
I don’t mind the blue. Wish they’d fix that gross pink though.
If they repainted the pink a subtle hue or almost a beige-y color, that would be so pretty!
