As we anticipate the opening of the Jurassic World VelociCoaster this summer, we’ve witnessed construction walls coming down and subsequent ride vehicle test runs. Now that Universal’s Islands of Adventure is open later and the sun sets sooner, we’re able to see the new attraction’s lights in action.
A low red/orange glow emits from inside the rock as it’s surrounded by the rollercoaster’s tracks.
Blue lights surround the perimeter of the ride, giving a nod to the color scheme of the VelociCoaster, which can be seen on its merchandise.
At night, guests will be taken down the glowing rock, weaving in, out, and around as they ride the VelociCoaster.
As the sun continued to set, we were given a surprise: a nighttime vehicle test!
While we previously got a glimpse of some nighttime testing, this one is up-close and personal and is now illuminated.
The ride vehicle glows blue in the front and on each individual seat as it races on the tracks.
A look from further away allows us to see the entrance tunnel illuminated in blue.
Ride vehicle testing continues, and we can’t help but be drawn to that electric blue.
