With the lobby of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort relocated to Gran Destino Tower, the former lobby in El Centro has been mostly untouched. While seating and charging stations were added in October 2019, there wasn’t much use for the space other than an overflow concierge area for convention guests. However, it has quietly undergone a renovation.
New wood flooring has been installed, replacing the dated tile and parquet combination. The old rugs are gone as well, making way for a modern rug in shades of green. Panchito’s Gifts and Sundries at the end of the room also underwent a renovation in 2019.
The archways that formerly housed service counters are vacant, offering a wide-open space. The future of this space is currently unknown.
Work crews are still active and currently applying ceiling paint.
The additional standalone counters that would have been in the forefront of this photo have also been removed.
An area outside of the building is also roped off for construction while crews on a lift refurbish the exterior.
