In February, we reported the opening of the new “The Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure” exhibit located in the American Adventure pavilion in EPCOT. The exhibit tells the story of jazz music, featuring the characters from the Golden Globe-winning Pixar film Soul. Now, it has received an update showcasing new maquettes from the film.

The new display features maquettes from Soul. Maquettes are scale-model sculptures used by the animators as models for the film. For example, Pixar filmmakers used these maquettes of Joe Gardner and Dorothea Williams.

The maquette of Dorothea Williams shows her playing the saxophone.

Likewise, Joe’s maquette showcases his piano.

Fans of jazz, animation, and Soul alike will want to check out these new additions.
