PHOTOS: Temporary Supports Being Removed as Work Concludes on Canopy Frame for TRON Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom

Just a few days ago, after months of observing its construction, the canopy framework was completed on TRON Lightcycle / Run. Now, temporary structures supporting the framework are in the process of being removed.

Large, brown temporary structures supported the integrity canopy frame as it was pieced together by construction crews.

Though there are many of these supports in place, some have begun to be dismantled as they’re no longer needed.

Part of the construction site is now being used to store the structures that have been removed.

As work is not active today, construction equipment is being stored away as well.

Following the tallest point of the canopy being installed earlier this month, the crew “topped it off” with an American flag, which remains.

Behind The Barnstormer, we can see a large area of the canopy where the temporary supports have been removed.

To the far right, it’s easy to see where the temporary structures were removed. The curve looks free-floating, and it will be a sight to see once all the brown supports are taken down.

Though some supports had been removed last month on the lower parts of the canopy, this is the largest section of canopy unsupported that we’ve seen.

As temporary supports are removed, it will be easier to see the walkways that have been erected for the attraction as the canopy hovers above.

The illuminated canopy is still several months away from completion and construction has halted inside the show building of the attraction, indicating that the attraction is pretty far from being finished. Though TRON Lightcycle / Run will not be opening in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, you can see our POV of the sister ride at Shanghai Disneyland below:
