It’s a little early for April showers, but spring break has brought a new floral lemon curd cupcake to the BoardWalk Bakery at Walt Disney World Resort. The BoardWalk Bakery is located at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Villas, next door to Trattoria al Forno.
Lemon Curd Cupcake – $5.99
This seasonal treat is topped with bright green frosting and adorned with piped flowers in buttercup yellow and pastel pink.
The floral frosting designs are intricately applied, adorning the dessert on all sides.
The whipped frosting did not hold up well in the warm weather, so if you’re looking to snap some photos of this cute snack, you’ll have to move fast. The frosting is very light and tasty, however.
Colorful nonpareils decorate the cupcake and add a nice texture without being overly sweet.
The yellow cake is a fluffy sponge cake that was moist but not overpowering. The real star of the cupcake, though, is the lemon curd filling. It has a consistency like pudding and is neither too sweet nor too tart. It was a delight that we would gladly eat again.
As far as Disney cupcakes go, this lemon curd cupcake was light and tasty. The bright flowers and lemon make it a wonderful spring treat.
