Tokyo Disney Resort Introducing Mobile Order System “Soon”

At long last joining the United States parks, Tokyo Disney Resort will reportedly be introducing Mobile Ordering at its restaurants “soon”, per Kyodo News (in Japanese).

Kyodo News stated that Mobile Ordering will be introduced as another facet to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure social distancing for Guests as they order food. Guests will be able to order through the Tokyo Disney Resort App and collect their food without coming into contact with other Guests and minimal contact with Cast Members. It is unknown whether the system will be the same as at Disneyland and Walt Disney World (a la MaxPass repurposed as Digital FastPass) or if the Oriental Land Company will create their own system. Mobile Ordering was not given an introduction timeframe other than “soon”.

This move is the latest as the Oriental Land Company looks to strengthen the digital presence and capabilities of Tokyo Disney Resort. OLC established a “Digital Strategy Department” in February to expedite development of digital integration at the Tokyo Disney Resort parks.
