Biden Administration to Relax Outdoor Mask Guidelines

The Biden Administration is set to relax federal public health guidelines regarding wearing masks outdoors, CNBC reports.

The announcement may come this week as early as Tuesday. There would be separate guidelines for vaccinated people and un-vaccinated people.

Dr. Fauci also indicated this weekend that updated mask guidelines would be coming soon. “The CDC is a science-based organization,” he said on ABC’s This Week With George Stephanopoulos. “They don’t want to make any guidelines unless they look at the data and the data backs it up. But when you look around at the common sense situation, the risk is really low, especially if you’re vaccinated.”

The CDC’s current guidelines state that “masks may not be necessary when you are outside by yourself away from others, or with people who live in your household. However, some areas may have mask mandates while out in public, so please check the rules in your local area (such as in your city, county, or state). Additionally, check whether any federal mask mandates apply to where you will be going.”

Right now, theme parks requiring masks indoors and outdoors at most times. Walt Disney World recently updated their guidelines to state that guests could remove masks when taking outdoor photos. As indicated by the CDC guidelines, a relaxation of federal guidelines may not immediately indicate a relaxation of theme park guidelines as these will be determined by each resort.

  1. It’s LONG overdue to be dropped outside. As soon as that’s complete, let’s begin with dropping it EVERYWHERE.

  2. So everyone criticized the governor for dropping the mandate, but now that the president and cdc say the same thing, it’s magically okay now. Nothing has changed with the masks between now and then except WHO was saying it then versus now.

  3. I was getting excited to see the first-ever masked Audio-Animatronic in the Hall of Presidents this year, but that’s seeming less likely now. Dang it.

    • Disney is holding off on the Biden animatronic, as we all know what will happen to the presidency, all part of the Dems plans all along. Harris is waiting in the wings…

      • I agree. I have said from the beginning that he had anywhere from 6 months to the 22 elections before she takes over.

      • But even then, it would merit two separate animatronic figures. Not every president represented in the hall served a full term.
