RUMOR: Brightline Train Station Planned for Orange Garage in Disney Springs

According to current plans for Brightline’s new rail line coming to Disney Springs, the train station may be incorporated into the Orange Garage.

These early plans may be scrapped or changed, but it would make sense for the train station to be near the Disney Springs bus loop. This would allow guests to grab transportation to other Disney destinations or a resort hotel on property that they might be starting at.

Walt Disney World executives told Orlando Business Journal that they had “nothing further to share at this time” regarding the rail’s development and a spokesperson with Brightline said additional details would be revealed later.

The new high-speed rail will connect Walt Disney World to the Orlando International Airport. It won’t be completed until 2026 at the earliest.

  1. How are Guests able to board a resort-bound bus at DS with luggage? I thought that is currently prohibited on Disney buses.

If Disney decides to allow that, imagine how much more room and and overhaul would be needed to the WDW bus system to accommodate arriving Guests via MCO. Just should have kept DME, but I digress.

  2. they might have 5 years to figure this out tom but that leaves those arriving by plane spending five years figuring out what to do. of course, disney could have kept the magical express for another five years but that would cost way too much money for the new penny pinching regime and bean counters at the supposed most magical place on earth.

  3. Be careful – WDWNT has clearly labeled this as a rumor. How long until DisTwitter claims that you’ve declared this as actual happening!

  4. The luggage problem can easily be solved by Disney using a similar kind of bus as the DME from hotels to Disney Springs, where you can stash luggage beneath the bus, and there can be CMs working around the bus stops helping people with luggage or driving them on trams to the bus stop. It’d be similar to the DME, but much cheaper and shorter distance, as they are only coming from Disney Springs.
