Hello from a very wet and windy EPCOT! It was a stormy day, but before the thunderclouds rolled in, we got a little bit of time to check out what was new at the park. Let’s get started!
Construction walls have been added underneath Spaceship Earth surrounding Pin Trading Headquarters, allowing for extensive pavement work (and possibly some wiring work) to be completed over the next few weeks.
As a part of the temporary closure of Pin Traders, we found a temporary kiosk for PhotoPass had been set up near the construction wall, and then later was moved to this location under the breezeway to the right of Spaceship Earth.
On World Showcase Lagoon, we found one side of one arm of the Harmonious ring barge had been covered in flexible screen fabric overnight. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Pavement work is ongoing in the France Pavilion, with newly scored patches butting up against fresh patches of pavement sporting wooden spacers out in the main walkway of the Pavilion.
We found several new pieces of merchandise today, starting with these rhinestone and felt keychains.
They are available at MouseGear and retail for $12.99 each.
Back at Mouse Gear, we found a new purse featuring an all-over Mickey and Minnie comic book print for $39.99.
We also found this 2021 graduation cap Alex and Ani bracelet at Mouse Gear for $44.99.
Our favorite merchandise find of the day was these fun new Loungefly ears. They match the mini backpack and wallet which recently came out in the parks, and we can’t wait to complete the set! For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Although not licensed Disney merchandise, rivaling the ears for our favorite merchandise find of the day was this booth of Dapper Day apparel. This booth has come to World Showcase as a pop up shop in this Festival Market kiosk in the Germany Pavilion for April 19-26. Come shop all of the dapper fashions while you can!
Once the thunderstorm began in earnest, things started to get a little interesting. Port of Entry quickly reached capacity, and some guests were left out in the rain, sheltering against the side of the building as best as they could.
While the majority of the Festival food booths remained open during the storm, but closed the external registers and moved to taking payments from within the booth, some closed completely. Primavera Kitchen in the Italy Pavilion was one booth that closed.
At Refreshment Port, the rope barriers blocking guests from this area which historically has held drums were ignored, and guests sheltered there, some while eating and drinking.
Jardin de Fiestas in the Mexico Pavilion was another food booth that closed completely during the storm.
We had a wonderful time at EPCOT today, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
