It’s a beautiful sunny day in Orlando, and we took a stroll at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to bring you another construction update! Progress is moving smoothly, with the resort set to reopen in late July of this year.

A walk past the Moana rooms shows that some rooms are still covered and likely unfinished. Some of the rooms have had the covers removed, so the regular curtains are visible from the outside.

No noticeable changes have occurred over at the construction walls near Pineapple Lanai, just the same sad news that the large tree has been removed.

There is an exciting development on the roof trusses at the new monorail station. One of the endcap pieces has been installed. These trusses will support a roof before construction is completed.

Concept art gives us a glimpse at the new monorail station and porte-cochére.

Work continues on the walkway to the Grand Ceremonial House from the monorail station.

Wood framing is now in place above the paneling that was installed earlier this week.

Rebar is visible above the pillars where more concrete will be added.

The large crane is still stationed between the supports for the new porte-cochére.

Not much has progressed on the porte-cochére, but more white construction crew trucks are parked at the worksite today than usual.
