The Jungle Cruise is undergoing a refurbishment to address inclusion and cultural sensitivity issues at both Disneyland Park and the Magic Kingdom. It was previously announced that unlike the Magic Kingdom, where the Jungle Cruise remains open during refurbishment, the Disneyland attraction would not reopen with the park on April 30th.
We confirmed today at Cast Member previews that construction walls have been installed around the Jungle Cruise.
Walls block off any potential view into the Jungle Cruise.
Tarps have also been hung, blocking off views from the entrance and queue.
While it’s assumed that the changes to Disneyland’s Jungle Cruise will be mostly the same as the Magic Kingdom’s, everything that Disney has shown so far has been confirmed for both coasts. This includes the new characters for the “Trapped Safari” rhino pole scene and Trader Sam’s Gift Shop scene.
Permits were filed to begin construction at the Jungle Cruise back in February. No reopening date has been announced yet, but Disney did say it would be completed in 2021.
