PHOTOS: La Gelateria Adds String Lights, Lamp Posts, and Sign Frame as Construction Continues at EPCOT

As we round out the fifth month at EPCOT since construction began last November, there is hope on the horizon. While Disney has not set an opening date, detail work on the façade has been progressing over the last month with the addition of blue shutters, wrought-iron accents, and pavement work. This week, more details have been added to La Gelateria.

La Gelateria, located on the American Adventure side of the Italy Pavilion, replaces the Gelati kiosk which will close when this opens.

Iron lamp posts have been added in front of the gelato stand.

A sign holder is now in place above the service windows.

String lights have been added stretching from La Gelateria’s roof to the adjacent façade.

The string light installation is ongoing, with wires dangling loose near the buildings.

Hopefully, the façade details are a sign of nearing completion, but given how long it has taken to get to this point, it may be a while longer before the stand is ready to open.
