Fantasyland isn’t the only area of the Magic Kingdom under refurbishment! Projects in progress can be found all around the park as we approach the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort. With the ongoing changes to the Jungle Cruise to the repurposing of Agrabah Bazaar, Adventureland is no different. We found a new refreshment project starting near Pirates of the Caribbean.
This planter, located in the path between Tortuga Tavern and Pirates of the Caribbean, has been covered with tarps.
The fabric has been secured over the cement planter with the plants untouched. It’s currently unclear what changes will be happening here, but it is likely to be repainting or possible repair to the perimeter of the planter, as we’ve seen a lot of around Magic Kingdom.
Stay tuned to WDWNT for more updates on the ongoing projects at Magic Kingdom.
I missed the part where it was explained why this was 50th anniversary related. Are they doing special stuff to all the planters for the anniversary? What’s different between this and routine maintenance?
The difference is they rarely do routine maintenance. This is a concerted effort to fix up the park for the anniversary.
If only there was some list of items needing maintenance, maybe updated weekly, that we could read on our favorite site…:)
